What it is
Run by Tourism and Events Queensland and developed with the regional tourism organisations, the Queensland Tourism Industry Council and the relevant Queensland Government department, the program assesses tourism products against an independent set of criteria each year. Products that meet the standard can carry the official Best of Queensland Experience mark in their marketing, so travellers can easily identify them.
Why it matters for export
Best of Queensland Experiences accreditation is the entry requirement for Export Ready. It is the foundation the program builds on to take you from trade-ready to export-ready. Operators who hold the accreditation and are ready to trade are invited through their regional tourism organisation.
Criteria and recognition
Tourism and Events Queensland sets the criteria and recognition levels and reviews them each year. For the current criteria and to check your status, see the Best of Queensland Experiences Program on the Tourism and Events Queensland website, or ask your regional tourism organisation.
How status is confirmed for Export Ready
The Queensland Academy confirms an operator's Best of Queensland status against the current record held by Tourism and Events Queensland before an invitation is issued, and checks it again at reassessment.
If you are not yet accredited
Your regional tourism organisation can help you understand where to focus. Read about what trade-ready means and what the program offers once you are eligible.
